Sam Matthews, Jr.

With two decades of experience in the architecture and construction industry, Sam serves as Studio Director at Studio 2H Design, where he plays a key leadership role in supporting the firm’s team and operations. He ensures that project teams are equipped with the tools, resources, and strategic guidance needed to deliver design solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.

Sam’s diverse portfolio spans educational, residential, commercial, and industrial projects, with expertise in both the design and management of projects of varying scales and complexities. His background in graphic and 3D design enhances his ability to visualize and communicate concepts clearly—bridging creative vision with technical execution. Known for his sharp attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and clear communication, Sam helps guide the studio’s commitment to delivering thoughtful, high-quality design work.

An alumnus of Tuskegee University, Sam brings a spirit of collaboration and mentorship to his leadership style. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Sam is a Philly Pro Sport Teams ‘Phanatic’. Sam is also an avid film and music connoisseur. Above all, Sam finds his greatest fulfillment in life in his faith and in his roles as a husband and father.
